SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES,

SUSTAINABLE COFFEE

Rainforest Alliance

Rainforest Alliance is an international non-profit organization that works to conserve biodiversity and promote sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices, and consumer behavior.

Fairtrade International

Fairtrade changes the way trade works through better practices, decent working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and workers in developing countries.

C.A.F.E. Practices

Is a verification program that measures farms against economic, social and environmental criteria, all designed to promote transparent, profitable and sustainable coffee growing practices while also protecting the well-being of coffee farmers, workers and their families and communities.

NAMA CAFÉ

NAMA is a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA), a concept introduced at the Conference of the Parties (COP) in Bali in 2007 as a means for developing countries to indicate the mitigation actions they were willing to take as part of their contribution to a global effort.

Quality Policy in Coffee Procurement

About the policy

The administration of the Cooperative is convinced that the path to achieving profitability for the farm largely involves collecting high-quality coffee. This approach has been yielding excellent results, as evidenced by a very favorable settlement for the producer.

Coffee Producer Benefits

Fairness among producers

Individuals with higher quality achieve better income compared to those with lower quality.

Rewards Loyalty

Individuals who deliver the entire harvest, from the beginning to the end, receive more Category A coffee than those who only deliver the beginning and/or the end.

More exportable coffee

Higher quality enables greater yield, more exportable coffee, better cupping; thus, a better price for the producer
